We are seeking a driven and motivated Post-doctoral scientist to become an integral part of the Mitochondrial Medicine for Liver Disease group at the Roger Williams Institute of Hepatology (RW-IoH). Are you passionate about those amazing organelles? Do you believe the best has yet to come for mitochondria-targeted therapies?

You will be a key team member and together we will develop a project on mitochondrial transplantation for the rescue of marginal grafts or on targeting mitochondrial dynamics for Alcohol-related Liver Disease (according to your interest/expertise). Responsibilities will include day-to-day management and coordination of the project with a clear focus on translational medicine.  By delving into the pathophysiological role of mitochondria, you will push the boundaries of mitochondrial medicine and develop innovative interventions to tackle the burden of liver disease.

We Are Looking For:

  • An enthusiastic and motivated post-doctoral scientist.
  • Strong background and experience in mitochondrial pathophysiology, morphology, dynamics, preferable expertise in working with human models/samples.
  • Knowledge of liver disease or organ transplantation will be advantageous, along with an interest in mitochondrial transfer/transplantation.
  • Good publication record.

Your Impact:

You will be pivotal in performing and driving forward this research project: data collection and analysis, literature review, manuscript preparation for high-impact publications and grant applications.
